This is probably a Cypress USB-UART question (more so than Zedboard), but I am wondering if anyone else has had issues with the USB UART driver hanging on port opening (from the PC side)? I have used the Zedboard USB UART 1000s of times as an A9 menu system on both a WinXP and Win7 (Home) machine, but am now trying to use it on new Win7 Professional machine, and the port will hang on the attempt to open the port. This happens on both an open of Putty (in serial mode), and in a Win32 console program on a CreateFile call, which is the first step in opening a COM port. On the Win7 Pro machine, I have found that after launching Putty, it will hang.
However, if I then power-cycle the Zedboard, the Putty terminal window will appear, and the USB UART terminal session will operate normally thereafter. According to device manager, both of my Win7 x64 machines have the same drivers loaded. (Loaded per the instructions on v1. My Little Pony Fighting Is Magic ?. 3 of the Zedboard USB-UART app note). I am stumped, and am curious if anyone else has seen odd behavior with opening the USB UART port on Zedboard, particularly in a Win7 Pro environment. Talvin Singh Ok Rapidshare S more. This package provides Cypress Touchpad Driver and is supported on XPS L321X running the following Windows Operating Systems: Windows 8. I also found a link to a mass storage driver for various versions of Windows (including WinXP), but it dated from 2003, so I had to assume it was already incorporated.
